Amarillo, TX – One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident north of Amarillo, according to Texas DPS.
The deadly accident happened around 12:20 p.m. on September 3 on US 87/287.
DPS said 44-year-old Arron Roland of Amarillo was riding a motorcycle northbound on the highway when he lost control and crossed from the inside lane into the outside lane. He collided with a pickup truck, was ejected, and hit multiple poles and a guardrail.
Roland, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver was uninjured and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Texas DPS is investigating the accident.
