New Braunfels, TX – The police have identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 35 in New Braunfels Thursday morning as Austin Michael Arp, 31, of Austin.

According to the police,  the deadly accident happened at about 9:15 a.m. in the 6000 block of Interstate 35.

Arp was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.

New Braunfels, TX – One person was hit and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 35 in New Braunfels Thursday morning, according to the New Braunfels Police Department.

According to a traffic alert shared by New Braunfels PD, all southbound lanes of Interstate 35 South have been closed due to the fatal auto-pedestrian accident.

The police said traffic was being diverted from the freeway at Exit 182 to the southbound frontage road.


The police advised drivers to use alternative routes or expect significant delays in the area.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

The accident remains under investigation.
