Lubbock, Texas – The Lubbock Police Department has identified the driver who was killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lubbock early Sunday Sunday morning as 19-year-old Carlos Sanchez-Luna
The deadly crash happened at about 12:04 a.m. on September 29 at Avenue K and 16th Street.
According to LPD, Luna was driving an SUV northbound in the 1700 block of Avenue K when the SUV collided with a passenger car traveling westbound at the intersection of 16th Street and Avenue K.
The impact caused the SUV to spin and struck a tree.

LPD said Luna was pronounced deceased at the scene and four passengers in the SUV were injured.
The four patients were identified as 19-year-old Dylan Burton, 20-year-old Gabrielle Perez, 19-year-old Wyatt Stewart, and 19-year-old Alexandra Sigel.
Burton and Perez sustained serious injuries while Sigel and Stewart had minor injuries.
The driver of the passenger car was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
