DPS said a 2022 Tesla was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it crashed into a 2010 Nissan Sentra.

Bastrop County, Texas – The three people who were killed early Saturday morning in a wrong-way accident in Bastrop County have been identified as Chloe Rios,18, and Ja Michael Houston,20, both from Smithville, and Zaldivar Espinosa,33, of Austin, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash happened on May 10, on State Highway 71 near McAllister Road.
DPS said a 2022 Tesla was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it crashed into a 2010 Nissan Sentra.
The driver of the Nissan, Rios, and passenger, Houston, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tesla, Espinosa, was taken to a local hospital but later succumbed to injuries.
Espinosa was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
