Blanco County, TX – Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision in Blanco County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 2:43 p.m. on August 10 off Ranch Road 165.
DPS said a black Mercedes SUV rear-ended a Subaru Outlander. The force of the impact caused the Outlander to spin into the opposite lane, where it was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe.
The driver and passenger of the Outlander, Cynthia Schade and Donna Stevens, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the Hyundai Santa Fe were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Mercedes driver, Alexandra Jackson, fled the scene but was later apprehended. She is facing several charges, including two counts of intoxication manslaughter, two counts of intoxication assault, two counts of accident involving death, two counts of accident involving serious bodily injury, two counts of tampering with evidence, and possession of marijuana under two ounces.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
