Authorities say three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the crash that claimed the life of 67-year-old Dennis Welch
Bellmead, TX – Bellmead police are investigating a traffic collision that claimed the life of 67-year-old Deniss Welch in Bellmead on Sunday, July 14, according to a police report.
According to Bellmead Police, a 14-year-old boy was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist. The 14-year-old boy has since been arrested and charged.
According to the police, further investigation led to the arrest of two other people, identified as 40-year-old Erika Ramirez Martinz and 22-year-old Lisett Andrea Najera.
Police said Martinz has been charged with two counts of endangering a child and one count of criminally negligent homicide, all state jail felonies.
Najera was charged with contributing alcohol to a minor.
Authorities say a 10-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
