Orange County, TX. – An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy was injured in a car crash on Friday afternoon in Orange County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 4 p.m. on FM 1442 near Turner Road.
A box van driver was traveling south when the driver attempted to turn right from the center lane and was struck by the deputy, who was traveling south in the travel lane.
The deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth for treatment.
The driver of the box van, 24-year-old Christopher Bell, was unhurt.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
