Salado, TX – A woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision that also left three other people injured in Salado, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 4:32 p.m. on January 3 on FM 2484, just west of FM 1670.
DPS said a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck was stopped facing westbound and was waiting to turn southbound onto a private drive. It failed to yield the right of way and turned into the path of an eastbound 2020 Cadillac SUV, resulting in a collision.
The force of the impact caused the Cadillac to leave the roadway and hit a tree.
A passenger in the Cadillac, Donna Sybil Leach Codl, 80, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was killed in the accident.
The Chevrolet driver, a 16-year-old male from Salado, and the Cadillac driver, a 56-year-old Harker Heights woman, were taken to local hospitals with non-incapacitating injuries. A 15-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
No other information was available.
The troopers are investigating the accident.
