Hale Center, TX – Two people were injured on Saturday in a head-on collision in Hale Center, according to a local news source.

The collision happened at about 8:50 p.m. on December 20 on Interstate 27.

According to the report, Emily Russell, 26, of Lubbock, was driving northbound in the left lane while 82-year-old Nancy Welborn, of Ransom Canyon, was traveling southbound.

Welborn’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into Russell’s vehicle.

Welborn and Russell were taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with non-life-threatening injuries.

Welborn had previously been reported as a missing person out of Lubbock County.

The authorities are investigating the accident.
