The deadly collision happened around 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 359 and Farm to Market Road 1539, south of Orange Grove.

Jim Wells County, TX – The Texas DPS has identified the person who died after two vehicles collided on Highway 359 in Jim Wells County Wednesday morning as Francisco Costilla.
DPS said the deadly collision happened around 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 359 and Farm to Market Road 1539, south of Orange Grove.
Reportedly, a 19-year-old man from Alice was driving a 2005 Ford F-25 northbound on SH-359 when he crossed into the opposite traffic lane and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado operated by Costilla.
Costilla was pronounced dead at the scene. Costilla’s passenger – a 17-year-old Corpus Christi man – was transported to Christus Spohn in Alice.
The driver of the Ford was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi.
Investigators believe that fog may have been a factor in the collision.

Francisco Costilla Killed in Head-on Accident on HIghwya 359
The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that one person was killed in the accident.
The DPS said Highway 359 has been shut down for a few hours as officers investigate the collision.
Reports indicate that the area where the accident occurred is very foggy. However, it is not clear if the fog was a factor in the incident.
An investigation is underway.
