The fatal collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on July 30 at the intersection of US 385 and W. Apple Street.

Ector County, TX – One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle accident in Ector County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on July 30 at the intersection of US 385 and W. Apple Street.
DPS said Genaro Rocha-Hernandez, 43, of Crane, was driving a 2024 GMC Sierra southbound on US 385 when he disregarded a red light at the intersection and collided with a 2021 Ford F-250 that was traveling eastbound on W. Apple Street.
Rocha-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. His passenger, 25-year-old Aaron Isiah Rocha of San Angelo, was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa with minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Ford driver, 43-year-old Reanna Marie Bean-Rodecap of Odessa, was uninjured in the accident.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
