The fatal collision took place around 11:30 p.m. on October 10 on State Highway 349 near mile marker 376.

Upton County, TX – A man was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle collision in Upton County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision took place around 11:30 p.m. on October 10 on State Highway 349 near mile marker 376.
DPS said a 2003 Cadillac Escalade towing a trailer was parked on the shoulder when it attempted to make an unsafe turn into traffic, causing a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado to collide with the trailer of the Escalade.
The Chevrolet driver, 38-year-old Gerardo Garcia of Midland, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Escalade driver, 48-year-old Steven Paul Latzel of Midkiff, was uninjured in the accident.
No additional details were released.
The troopers are investigating the accident.
