Daniel was transported to a local hospital, where she died while receiving treatment
Angelina County, TX. – Helen Daniel, 83, of Zavalla, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a car accident on Tuesday near Lufkin in Angelina County.
According to local police, the accident happened around 10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 69.
A 2024 Kia Sportage was pulling out of a private driveway to travel south on U.S. 69 when the driver failed to yield the right-of-way and pulled into the path of a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Daniel was a passenger in the Kia and was transported to a local hospital, where she died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the Kia, 55-year-old Donna Price, of Zavalla, was taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Christina Mikeska, 42, of Lufkin, was also taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
