Midland, TX – A man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Midland, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision took place around 4:00 p.m. on October 27 at the intersection of Business 20 and Elkins Road.
DPS said Henry Jesse Vasquez, 77, of Midland, was driving a 2018 Nissan Frontier eastbound in the left turn lane of Business 20. He failed to yield the right of way while turning left into oncoming traffic and was struck by a westbound 2020 Ram 2500 driven by Inderveer Singh Rehal, 42, also of Midland.
Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Rehal, who was also wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured in the accident.
The weather conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
