San Antonio, TX – The motorcyclist who was killed on Thursday in a collision with an SUV in San Antonio’s West Side has been identified as Ian Garcia, 23, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened just before noon on July 31 at the intersection of Galm Road and Shoreline Drive, near Culebra Road.

Police said an SUV was traveling southbound on Galm Road and was attempting to turn left toward Culebra Road while Garcia was riding his motorcycle in the opposite direction.

Garcia hit the front end of the SUV as the car was turning left. He was ejected from his motorcycle, and he landed over the fence in a neighbor’s backyard on Galm Road.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Speed might have been a factor in the accident.

The police are investigating the accident.
