Lubbock, TX – The man who died after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Lubbock has been identified as Irvin Cortes, 18, according to the police.
The accident was reported around 8:21 p.m. on November 15 at the intersection of East 10th Street and MLK Jr. Boulevard.
Police said a black SUV was turning left onto 10th Street when it struck a white Jeep. The occupants of both cars exited the vehicles to exchange information.
A passenger in the SUV, Cortes, was hit by a Yukon driven by Roderick Taylor, 29, as he was standing behind the Jeep.
Cortes was taken to UMC with serious injuries, where he later died.
Other occupants in the vehicles were taken to Covenant Medical Center with minor and moderate injuries.
The police are investigating the accident.

The collision was reported around 8:20 p.m. on November 15 in the area of MLK and East 10th Street.
Police said two vehicles collided and several people sustained moderate injuries in the collision.
One of the involved people exited the vehicle and was struck by a third car. The victim sustained serious injuries.
