According to DPS, the deadly two-vehicle collision happened at about 7 p.m. on November 20 on FM 1053, about one mile south of State Highway 329 in Crane County.

Crane County, TX — The Texas DPS has released the identities of all the victims killed in a deadly traffic collision on FM 1053 in Crane County.

The DPS identified the victims as 18-year-old Jackie Lee Perkins, 18-year-old Jaden Lewis Perkins, 16-year-old Nautica Perkins – all three from Odessa – and 48-year-old Gary Don Liles of Brownfield.

According to the DPS, the incident involved a 2012 Jeep Wrangler, operated by Jackie Perkins, and a 2024 GMC Sierra, operated by Gary Liles.

Reportedly, the Jeep was traveling northbound on FM 1053 and the GMC was traveling southbound on FM 1053. The two vehicles collided head-on and the Jeep caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants of the Jeep – Jackie Perkins, Jaden Perkins, and Nautica Perkins, were pronounced dead at the scene. All three Odessa teens were the children of Ector County Sheriff’s Patrol Lt. Heather Perkins.

The driver of GMC, Gary Liles, was critically injured and was transported to a hospital in Odessa where he later died.

The incident remains under investigation.

Crane County, TX — Three Buena Vista ISD students were killed and one other person was critically injured after two vehicles collided on FM 1053 in Crane County Wednesday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

According to DPS, the deadly two-vehicle collision happened at about 7 p.m. on November 20 on FM 1053, about one mile south of State Highway 329 in Crane County.

According to the DPS, one vehicle was privately owned.

DPS said three students from Buena Vista ISD died in the collision. The names of the three deceased students have not been released.

The driver of the second vehicle was critically injured in the incident and was hospitalized.
