Chambers County, TX – The Texas DPS has identified the man who died in a rear-end traffic collision on I-10 in Chambers County at about 7:18 a.m. on November 28 as Jacob Rhodes, 37, of Friendswood
Rhodes was driving a 2012 Mazda passenger car traveling westbound on Highway 10 when he failed to slow down for vehicles ahead and slammed into the rear of a commercial vehicle.
According to DPS, Rhodes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the deadly collision happened as traffic was stalled in the area due to an earlier rear-end collision that claimed the life of another female driver.

Chambers County, TX – One person died in a collision that occurred on Interstate Highway 10 in Chambers County Thursday morning, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
The deadly wreck happened near mile marker 809 at about 7:18 a.m. on November 28.
According to the report, a 2012 Mazda passenger car traveling westbound on Highway 10 failed to slow down for vehicles ahead and slammed into the rear of a commercial vehicle.
The driver of the Mazda, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Authorities said the incident occurred as traffic was stalled due to an earlier fatal rear-end collision in the area. The first incident, which happened at about 4:30 a.m. the same day, involved a 2015 Jeep Patriot, a commercial motor vehicle, and a 1995 GMC pickup.
The accident is under investigation.
