Winkler County, Texas – A man was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Winkler County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly crash happened around 6:25 p.m., May 22, at the intersection of SH 302 and CR 101.

DPS said 68-year-old James Dean Daniels, of Midland, was driving a Ford F-150 and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection.

46-year-old Osmany Perera Suarez, of Laredo, was driving a semi-truck westbound on SH 302 approaching the intersection. Daniels failed to yield the right of way, entered the intersection, and was struck by the semi-truck.

Daniels was pronounced dead at the scene. Suarez was taken to a hospital in Kermit with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
