Marlin, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a deadly wrong-way crash that left two people dead on Business SH 6 south of Marlin on Thursday evening.
According to the DPS, the deadly accident took place at about 7:58 p.m. on October 17 on Business State Highway 6 near Falls County Road CR-2885 south of Marlin.
Jerry Hocking, 39, Among Two Killed in Collision with Wrong-Way Driver in Marlin
DPS said an initial investigation revealed that a Cadillac CTS that was traveling northbound on Bussines Highway 6, entered the wrong lane and struck a Chevrolet Spark operated by Jerry Hocking, 39, of Mart.
Hocking and his passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the passenger is still under wraps pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Cadillac was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest in Waco with non-life-threatening injuries.
