Young County, TX – A woman from Crosbyton was killed in a head-on collision that occurred near Newcastle in Young County on Saturday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The wreck took place on U.S. Highway 380 at about 5:45 p.m. on November 16.
The DPS said Jeffy Ann Bartholomae, 47, of Northlake, was driving a 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 eastbound on U.S. Highway 380 when she drifted into the westbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming 2007 Mazda 3.
The driver of the Mazda, Jody Lynn Rymel, 44, of Crosbyton, was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, where she was pronounced deceased on Sunday.
A passenger in the Mazda, a 15-year-old Crosbyton resident, was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth with unspecified injuries.
Bartholomae had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls, and later moved to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth.
The DPS is investigating the collision.
