Crane, TX. – A 42-year-old John Mathew Bryant has been identified as the man who died in a fiery car crash on Tuesday evening in Crane.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on State Highway 329 near mile marker 250.
Bryant was driving a 2023 Kia Soul eastbound on State Highway 329 behind a truck tractor believed to be hauling sand.
The driver of the car lost control and struck the rear end of the truck.
The Kia caught on fire after the collision.
Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was unhurt in the deadly crash.
According to the police, they suspect speed as a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
