Dallas, TX – One person is dead and another hospitalized following a high-speed two-vehicle traffic collision at an intersection near Pleasant Grove, according to the Dallas Police Department.

The deadly accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. on September 27 at Bruton Road and Pleasant Drive.

As per the police, Joshua Simeon Johnson, 22, was driving eastbound on Bruton Road and turning left to the 2100 block of Pleasant Drive.

High-Speed Crash Kills Joshua Johnson, Injures Passenger on Bruton Road

Police say Steven Castrejon, 25, was driving a pickup truck westbound at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the passenger’s side of Johnson’s car.

Dallas Fire Rescue transported Johnson to a hospital where he was declared dead.

A 25-year-old passenger in the pickup truck was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said Castrejon was arrested and faces one count each of manslaughter and aggravated assault.
The incident remains under investigation.
