Hartley  County, TX – The Texas DPS has identified the female passenger who sustained serious injuries in a deadly head-on accident in Hartley as Rhonda Sudduth, 53, of Lagrange, Kentucky.

Sudduth was a passenger in a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was hit head-on by a 2014 Honda Civic at about 1:12 a.m. Wednesday on US 385.

Hartley  County, TX – Two people are dead and one other person critically injured following a head-on traffic collision in Hartley County early Wednesday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The double-fatal accident happened at about 1:12 a.m. on southbound US 385, six miles south of Hartley.

DPS officials said a 2014 Honda Civic was heading northbound US 385 when, for unknown reasons, it veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was going south on the roadway.

According to the DPS, the driver of the Honda, identified as 44-year-old Erica Blair of Dallas was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Dodge, identified as 66-year-old Glenn Ottens of Keller, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the pickup suffered serious injuries and was transported to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, DPS said, adding that all parties were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident

The Texas Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the deadly incident.
