Nail was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital where she later died

Odessa, TX. – Linda Nail, 71, died in hospital while receiving treatment for injuries she sustained in a car accident in Odesa on July 31.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of US 385 and Cottonwood Road.
42-year-old Edward Mata, of Odessa, driving a 2024 Ford F-150 northbound on US 385 when he collided with Nail’s 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 traveling westbound on Cottonwood.
Nail was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and then to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where she died on August 4.
Mata was taken to MCH with minor injuries.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
