The fatal collision happened around 9:59 a.m. on October 12 on US 190 at mile marker 546 just outside Kempner.

Lampasas County, TX – A woman was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Lampasas County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision happened around 9:59 a.m. on October 12 on US 190 at mile marker 546 just outside Kempner.
DPS said Malena Mick, 51, of Belton, had stopped her 2010 Ford Edge on the westbound shoulder of the highway. She attempted to make a U-turn to head eastbound and turned into the path of a westbound 2008 Ford Explorer driven by a 65-year-old Copperas Cove man.
The Explorer then struck the Edge on the driver’s side.
Mick was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl in the Edge were airlifted to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple with serious injuries.
The Explorer driver and his 65-year-old female passenger were taken by ambulance to AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen with serious injuries.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
