San Antonio, TX – A 48-year-old man was critically injured in a bicycle accident Saturday evening in San Antonio’s West Side, according to the police.
The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on December 13 in the 1000 block of Frio City Road.
Police said 35-year-old Jose Alfredo Armendariz was driving northeast when he hit the 48-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical condition.
Armendariz stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. He was found to have been intoxicated and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
The police are investigating the accident.

The bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver was found to be intoxicated when police arrived.
