The driver of the Mazda stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police

Laredo, TX. – A man was critically injured after being struck by a car on Thursday morning in Laredo.
According to the Laredo Police Department, the accident happened at around 6 a.m. at Riverbank Drive and Logistics Street.
The 55-year-old man had been talking with another driver when he was hit by a southbound 2006 gray Mazda.
The man was taken to an area hospital before being airlifted to San Antonio in critical condition.
The driver of the Mazda stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
