Steven Gamez had helped pull Marina Ramirez out of her vehicle and attempted to take her across the southbound lane of SH 359 when they were struck by another vehicle

Bee County, TX – A Good Samaritan and the driver he was helping were hit and killed by a vehicle along Highway 359 in Bee County on Friday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident took place on State Highway 359 at about 5:11 a.m. November 22.
The DPS said Marina Ramirez, 22, of Alice, was driving a 2016 Kia Forte north on SH 359 when she crashed into the rear of a garbage truck.
A father and his son, identified as Steven Gamez, 30, of Beeville, were passing by and stopped to help Ramirez.

Gamez helped pull Ramirez out of the vehicle and attempted to take her across the southbound lane. The two were then hit by a southbound 2019 Chevrolet Colorado operated by a 66-year-old woman as they tried to cross the roadway.
Ramirez and Gamez were pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities are investigating the wreck.
