The collision happened around 11:47 p.m. on September 7 at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1776 and Ruiz Street.

Pecos County, TX – The woman who was injured earlier this month in a two-vehicle collision in Pecos County has died, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Melissa Hernandez Trevizio, 57, of Odessa, died on September 12.
The collision happened around 11:47 p.m. on September 7 at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1776 and Ruiz Street.
DPS said a 2014 Freightliner with a trailer was turning right onto Ruiz Street while Rigoberto H. Trevizio Jr., 30, of Presidio, was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado with a trailer northbound on FM 1776.
Trevizio Jr. became distracted inside the vehicle, failed to control his speed, and attempted to avoid the Freightliner’s trailer, but struck it.
Melissa, who was a passenger in the Silverado, was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and then later transferred to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, where she died on September 12. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured in the accident.
The collision remains under investigation.
