San Antonio, TX – A woman was killed Monday morning after being struck by a pickup truck in San Antonio, according to a local news report.

Reportedly, the deadly crash happened at about 6 a.m. on Monday, July 22 in the area of South WW White Road and Rigsby Avenue.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an SUV was traveling eastbound on Rigsby and attempted to turn onto South WW White Road. The SUV driver noticed a pedestrian standing in the unlit roadway and swerved to avoid hitting her. At that moment, a pickup truck traveling northbound on S. WW White Road swerved in the opposite direction to avoid colliding with the SUV and ended up hitting the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, identified as Merilyn Faye Cameron, 66, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died.

Both drivers remained at the scene and rendered aid to Cameron, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation.
