Refugio County, TX -Michael Ngo, 31, of Houston, was killed in a traffic collision involving a truck tractor semi-trailer in Refugio County early Tuesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to the DPS, the wreck happened at about 2:24 a.m. on U.S. Highway 77 near Henderson Lane.

DPS said an initial accident occurred when a truck tractor semi-trailer crashed into three car haulers. No one was injured in the accident.

The DPS said a 2017 Kenworth truck tractor towing a 2015 Great Dane trailer, operated by Alberto Mata, 38, of La Villa, was stopped on U.S. Highway 77 southbound due to the earlier collision.
The Kenworth’s trailer was rear-ended by a 2018 Nissan box truck driven by Michael Ngo.

According to the report, Ngo was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
