Lubbock, TX – A woman was killed and four other people were serioulsy injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Lubbock on Thursday afternoon,  according to the Lubbock Police Department.

The incident took place in the 6700 block of 19th Street at Milwaukee Avenue at around 5:11 p.m. January 17.

According to LPD, Misty Shaw, 59, was driving eastbound on 19th Street when she drifted into the westbound lanes and collided with an oncoming car.

Shaw’s vehicle was then struck by another vehicle that was driven by Raquel Rodriguez, 52.

The LPD reported that Shaw was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A passenger in Shaw’s vehicle, Blake Coomer, 31, was taken to University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Rodriguez and her two passengers suffered serious injuries and were transported to Covenant Medical Center.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
