Upton County, Texas – Multiple people were injured Monday afternoon in a 30-vehicle crash in Upton County, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 4:50 p.m., April 1, on FM 1555 and SH 349.

DPS said as many as 30 vehicles were involved in the collision.

Multiple people were injured in the crash.

There was a storm with high winds and blowing dust at the time of the crash. This caused limited visibility for drivers.

The crash closed FM 1555 and motorists were encouraged to use caution when traveling throughout West Texas as high winds were expected to last through the night.

The crash remains under investigation.
