Austin, TX – The person who was killed in a pedestrian accident earlier this month in Southeast Austin has been identified as 50-year-old Nakia L. Dawson, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 3:07 a.m. on July 18 in the 8000 block of S. IH 35 NB SRVD.

Authorities said Dawson was struck by a vehicle and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Dawson was pronounced dead at the hospital around 2:58 p.m. on July 22.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
