Martin County, TX – An Oklahoma man was killed in a rear-end traffic collision in Martin County Thursday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. on September 26 on State Highway 176 near County Road 3600.

According to DPS, a Kenworth truck with a trailer, operated by a 55-year-old man driving, was stopped on State Highway 176 while attempting to turn onto County Road 3600. Dee Jay Moler, 44, of Oklahoma, was driving a Hyundai Elantra behind the truck.

DPS said Moler failed to control the Hyundai’s speed and crashed into the rear of the trailer.

Moler sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
