Houston, TX. – A man was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Houston, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 12:05 a.m., July 6, in the 8501 block of North Loop East (North Interstate 610) service road.
Police said a red Dodge Charger was participating in a car meet-up in an industrial parking lot where several vehicles and spectators had gathered. Several vehicles performed vehicular maneuvers while bystanders filmed in the parking lot. During the event, Oscar Garcia, 23, who was one of the spectators who was filming, fell and was hit by a red Dodge Charger that was being driven by Chaizon Myson Young, 22.
Garcia was pinned underneath the Dodge and was pulled out by another spectator with a jack. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Young fled the scene and was located at a residence in the 7100 block of Garnet Hill Lane. He was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid after an accident involving death. He was booked into the Harris County jail.
The police are investigating the accident.
