Houston, TX – One person was killed and another injured following wrong-way traffic in Houston early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at about 2:25 a.m. at 900 Durham Drive on August 6.

According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Prejean, a black Dodge Charger was traveling the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lanes of Durham Drive when it collided head-on with a blue BMW I3 traveling southbound.

A 25-year-old male passenger in the Charger was transported to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the BMW, a 58-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

The wrong-way driver, identified only as a 24-year-old  man, remained at the scene following the crash. Authorities said the man refused medical assistance and was not transported.

The identity of the deceased man is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The incident remains under investigation.
