Lubbock, TX – Two people were injured Wednesday morning after a chase ended in a collision in Lubbock, according to the Lubbock Police Department.
The collision happened on October 15 in the area of Slide Road and 54th Street.
Police said an officer attempted a traffic stop on a stolen truck at about 9:55 a.m. in the 2600 block of 34th Street. That driver led officers on a pursuit. An attempt was made to use a vehicle containment maneuver, and the stolen vehicle hit one of the police cars during the attempt.
The stolen vehicle continued heading southbound on Slide Road, and it struck a passenger car as it was turning westbound onto 54th Street.
The collision caused the stolen truck to roll over multiple times before it collided with a telephone pole.
The driver of the passenger car, Perry Clark, 71, was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver of the stolen truck, Dusty Grubbs, 28, was also taken to UMC with moderate injuries.
There were three other people in the stolen truck at the time of the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
