Nueces County, TX – A father and two of his children were killed after being involved in a two-vehicle collision Thursday night in Nueces County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision happened around 9:44 p.m. on January 15 at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36.

DPS said Randy Rubio was driving a 2005 Buick Rendezvous southbound on CR 77 while a 2019 Ford Ranger was traveling westbound on CR 36.

The Ranger ran the stop sign at the intersection and hit the Rendezvous on the driver’s side.

The force of the impact sent both vehicles off the roadway.

Rubio was pronounced dead at the scene. His three children, ages 4, 5, and 12, were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Two of them were taken to Driscoll Children’s Hospital, while the third was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline before being taken to Driscoll. The 4-year-old succumbed to their injuries on Friday, January 16, while the 12-year-old succumbed to the injuries on Sunday, January 18.

The Ranger driver was airlifted to Christus Spohn Shoreline in critical condition.

The troopers are investigating the accident.

Nueces County, TX – A father and his child were killed Thursday night in a two-vehicle collision in Nueces County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision happened around 9:44 p.m. on January 15 at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36.

Robstown, TX – One person was killed and four others, including three children, were injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle collision near Robstown, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision was reported around 9:44 p.m. on January 15 at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 36.

DPS said a Ford Ranger and a Buick Rendezvous were involved in the collision.

The Buick driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three children in the Buick were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Ford driver was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in unknown condition.

No further information was available.

The troopers are investigating the accident.
