Presidio County, TX – Two people were killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision in Presidio County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal collision happened around 4:20 p.m. on October 3 on US 67 about 12 miles north of Presidio.

DPS said a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup was traveling southbound on the highway when it entered the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a Sierra GMC pickup.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Refjujio Castillo, 59, and a passenger, Juan Jose Rodriguez, 82, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims were from Pecos, Texas.

Two other passengers in the Chevrolet were taken to a Big Bend area hospital in stable condition.

A woman in the GMC was taken to an Odessa hospital in critical condition.

The DPS is investigating the accident.
