Renika Derry Killed in Anderson Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 244 near Highway 90

Anderson, Texas – One person was killed and two others were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Anderson, Grimes County, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash happened around 4:44 p.m., June 21, on FM 244, just north of Highway 90.
DPS said a 2017 Freightliner M2 truck was traveling northbound at a right-hand curve when it partially left the roadway on the right, veered back to the left, crossed the center stripe, and struck a southbound Hyundai Palisade.
The Hyundai driver, 40-year-old Renika Derry of Anderson, was killed in the crash.
The passenger in the Hyundai was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.
The driver of the Freightliner was also taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
