San Patricio County, TX – Two men who were killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision at an intersection near Gregory Sunday evening have been identified.

The Texas DPS identified the deceased drivers as Richard Rodeman, 45, of Corpus Christi and Christopher Lepine, 36, of Portland.

One other person, identified as Shaleigha Rada, 23, of Houston was transported to Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi with serious injuries.

The deadly crash happened at about 7 p.m. on January 26 at the intersection of 188 and FM 136.

According to the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office, Rodeman was heading southbound on FM 136 with Rada as a passenger, when his vehicle crossed the center line and into the oncoming traffic lane.

Lepine, who was heading northbound, tried to swerve to the left to avoid colliding with Rodeman’s car, but the two vehicles collided head-on.

Lepine reportedly tried to move to the left to avoid Rodeman’s vehicle but was hit on its front end, causing major damage to both vehicles.

After the collision, Lepine’s vehicle spun around and came to rest in the northbound lane.

Rodeman’s car traveled off the roadway, spun around, and came to rest on the grass shoulder.

Rodeman and Lepine were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Rada suffered serious injuries and was transported to Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi.

TX-188 was shut down for about three and a half hours as crews and investigators worked at the scene.
