The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. on October 15 on State Highway 62 near County Road 826.

Jasper County, TX – Four people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a multi-car collision in Jasper County about nine miles south of Buna, according to the DPS.
The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. on October 15 on State Highway 62 near County Road 826.
DPS said a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling northbound on the highway and was being followed by a 2013 Honda Odyssey. The Honda began passing the Chevrolet as it began making a left turn onto CR 826. The Honda then struck the driver’s side of the Chevrolet.
The force of the impact pushed the Honda into a nearby parking lot, where it struck a parked Nissan Rogue. The Nissan was pushed into a parked Mazda CX-9.
The Chevrolet driver, a 42-year-old Jasper woman, was taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Honda driver, 56-year-old Rita Caillier from Orange, was taken to Baptist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One of the two occupants of the Nissan, a 78-year-old Orange woman, was taken to a Houston hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other occupant, an adult, was taken to a Beaumont hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A person in the Mazda, a 33-year-old woman from Buna, was uninjured in the accident.
The accident closed the highway for several hours.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
