Odessa, TX – A man was critically injured Tuesday morning in a motorcycle accident in Odessa, according to the Odessa Police Department.
The accident happened around 6:49 a.m. on December 2 in the 2100 block of W. 42nd Street.
Police said Roberto Lopez, 40, was riding a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound behind a westbound gray Ford Mustang driven by 24-year-old Ruben Armendariz.
The hood of the Mustang opened, and it flew off, shattering the front windshield. Armendariz stopped, and Lopez rear-ended the Mustang.
Lopez was ejected from the motorcycle, and he landed in the roadway. He was taken to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Armendariz was uninjured in the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
