Wood County, TX. – A Wood County sheriff’s deputy was killed in a collision on Wednesday in Wood County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at the intersection of FM 14 and State Highway 37-S.

The deputy was driving a car when she crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler that was making a left-hand turn.

The deputy was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive her injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
