The deadly accident happened around 1:17 a.m. on September 1 on Interstate 40 about two miles east of McLean.

Gray County, TX – A man was killed early Monday morning in a wrong-way collision in Gray County, according to the Texas DPS.
The deadly accident happened around 1:17 a.m. on September 1 on Interstate 40 about two miles east of McLean.
DPS said Stephan Taylor, 43, of Tyler, was driving a 1991 Jeep Cherokee eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 2021 International truck tractor towing a semi-trailer.
The Jeep caught fire on impact.
Taylor, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was taken to Shamrock General Hospital with minor injuries.
Road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the accident. The posted speed limit on the highway was 75 mph.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
