Ben Bolt, TX – A man was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Ben Bolt, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 11:20 a.m. on November 23 on US Highway 281.
DPS said Xavier Gonzalez, 63, of Edinburg, was driving a 2023 Kenworth truck tractor pulling a utility trailer in the outside southbound lane while Thomas Gomez, 20, of Alamo, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala behind the semi-truck.
Gomez attempted to change lanes and hit the semi-truck.
The Impala left the roadway after the collision, while the semi-truck came to rest on the southbound shoulder.
Gomez was killed in the collision.
No other details were provided.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
