San Antonio, TX – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the BMW driver who died in a rear-end collision in San Antonio early Sunday.

The Medical Examiner identified the victim as 24-year-old Trent Waldrip.

Waldrip was driving a BMW that crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler at a high rate of speed and burst into flames at about 3:15 a.m. on October 13 in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 near Thousand Oaks Drive.

Waldrip was pronounced dead at the scene.

San Antonio, TX – A man was killed after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler at a high rate of speed and burst into flames in San Antonio early Sunday, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The deadly accident happened at about 3:15 a.m. on October 13 in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 near Thousand Oaks Drive.

According to SAPD, the male driver of a silver BMW crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler at a high rate of speed. Upon the impact, the BMW caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
