Parmer County, TX – One person was killed and another was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a semi-truck accident in Parmer County north of Muleshoe, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal accident happened around 9:00 a.m. on October 15 at the intersection of SH 214 and FM 145.

DPS said 46-year-old Wilnick Saint-Paul of Florida was driving a semi-truck eastbound on FM 145 when he ran a stop sign at the intersection and struck another semi-truck driven by 30-year-old Juan Soliz.

Both semi-trucks caught on fire after the collision.

Saint-Paul was pronounced dead at the scene.

Soliz was able to exit the semi-truck before it was fully engulfed. He was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.

The troopers are investigating the accident.
